Despite the closure of The Rec Rooms, there are still outlets for fans of original live music in Horsham. Revelations at The Rec was launched last year, and now the organisers have moved to other venues including The Roffey Club. Full story here.

Horsham Folk Club meets at the Normandy Centre in Denne Road, Horsham, every Sunday evening. Formed during a folk revival inspired by artists such as Martin Carthy, Peter Seegar and Bob Dylan, the club has survived countless venue changes over more than half a century. Full story here

SHIPLEY ARTS FESTIVAL

A day before the official “Freedom Day” of Monday 19 July, something special was happening at St Andrew’s Church in the village of Nuthurst. mOnly a small crowd were present to hear the world premiere of a Violin Concerto by composer Paul Lewis, but it was another significant moment for the Shipley Arts Festival.
